In this video, Greg the Gardener provides an easy, cheap alternative to getting rid of pesky ants. Greg uses the household stain remover and disinfectant, Borax, mixed with sugar and honey — and it makes for a truly killer lethal combination.
Here’s what you’ll need for the Borax mixture:
- Hot water
- 6-8 teaspoons of Borax
- 6-8 teaspoons of honey or sugar
- Cup for mixing
- Spray bottle
Watch the video below for the complete step-by-steps. Ants absolutely love this mix and will literally lap up the sweet mixture. “Any ant that eats this and digests it will die,” Greg says.
Be careful, because this mixture can make pets and animals sick, so it’s important to prevent them from licking it. To ensure safety, Greg fills up a bottle cap with the Borax mix and hides the pot on top to stop any animals from getting to it. The ants will still find it, and “go berserk.”
